Elton John ft. Stevie Wonder Finish Line Song Review

As a massive fan of Motown classics I am very excited about this collaboration on “Finish Line”! I think it’s super cool that Elton John took advantage of time during the pandemic to create an album of collaborations with a mix of new artists and older artists such as Stevie. As I listen to this song for the first time I am immediately struck by memories of my childhood when I would be running around the house while my parents would play Motown’s biggest hits over the speakers from my mom’s iPod. I’m not sure if Elton and Stevie have collaborated before but if they haven’t then it’s long overdue. The feature of Elton playing his ever so iconic piano solo and the even more iconic solo of Stevie playing the harmonica just works perfectly. I think with a song like this on his collaborations album it will excite the older crowd that have grown up being fans Elton John and Stevie Wonder and it will give the younger generation exposure to some of the most famous classic artists. This would be an absolutely incredible performance if it is ever performed live. It is the perfect mix of bring the past into the future. If you can’t tell I am already in love with this song. It is truly a banger for all generrations alike.
A 10/10 for me without a doubt!
